Kaspersky Lab has just turned 20 on July 25th and they have a big birthday treat for the entire world!! On their big day, they have announced the global launch of Kaspersky Free- a completely free antivirus from KL for the first time in their history.
KL has finally launched its free antivirus software after a year-and-a-half of testing in selected regions. The testing was done in the Russia-Ukraine-Belarus region, China, and also in the Nordic countries. The rollout won’t be fully global instantaneously; it’s going to be done over four months in waves as per different regions. The first wave will be the U.S.A., Canada, and many of the Asia Pacific countries. September: India, Hong Kong, Middle East, Africa, Turkey and Latin America. October: Europe, Japan, and South Korea. November: Vietnam and Thailand.
Kaspersky Free has all the bare essentials: file, email and web antivirus; automatic updates, self-defense; quarantine; and so on. This AV ensures convenient and safe web browsing. It also works with USB sticks and other portable storage media and provides protection against both phishing and infected files. Also, it is lighter on system resources than the more fully-featured version, and it will run quicker. At the same time, it doesn’t come with those annoying Ads and related stuff which free AV normally has.
If you are looking for a premium protection then you have to pay $50 where you get many extra features like Parental Control, Online Payment Protection, and Secure Connection (VPN). For those who don’t want to spend money on AV, Kaspersky Free will be a great option and “secure your world!!!”
